Here's another one of those 'lost' shows. Those more connected to Sabbath than me have brought up this possibility. Letters from the band's manager Jim Simpson tell Tony Iommi that German TV will be filming the band here. But nothing exist on top of that to prove or disprove the filming. From what I remember this date didn't match well with other concerts dates of the time. You can google the place and its a very magical place.

Production company 'Avro' filmed Sabbath playing their first album except for Wicked World. This is mentioned in the May 16 1970 edition of the magazine Disc and Music Echo. Recently I came across a copy of this issue to further prove the fact. AVRO They told a collector named Armijn Hemel that this film isn't in their library. So Sabbath members & management are the only holders of this footage. (If they do, that is).

A couple years ago there was a BBC program which featured a couple seconds of the band miming to playback of NIB. And I haven't been able to prove exactly what this is. But there are photos that are suppose to have been took while filming the Doebidoe show. And it matches what the band is wearing in the clip. So there's hope yet that this film isn't totally erased from history.

Alexander Rack who once ran the Black Sabbath Fan Club arose the thought of the audio bootleg we have from this show is from a never released concert filming. The bootleg is pretty clear and mixed so that adds some to the idea. Graham Wright who was one of the authors of How Black Was Our Sabbath recalled that TV cameras were there. So I'm sure this film exist.

Update : It was further explained to me that this show was called Spotlight. Which also featured good ole Jimi Hendrix. And yes they used footage from the Paris 1970 film.

The 10-11-1975 issue of the Lincoln Star promotes this broadcast. The article was by Cynthia Johnson called TV Proudly Presents...Public Access. The title of the program was Person On The Street Interviews; The Black Sabbath Concert at Pershing Auditorium. It goes on to mention it's an half-hour special. It aired on October 12, 18, and 19th on Lincoln, Nebraska's public access channel. As to what was shown is unknown. If this even featured footage of Black Sabbath at all who knows. It could have been one of those 'a look at the crowd' kind of shows. Sure would love to get a hold of a copy If it still exist!

While Sabbath and Ozzy took a ‘break’ the guys hooked up with Savoy Brown & Fleetwood Mack singer Dave Walker. Some material that became the 'Never Say Die' album was recorded. They made a one-off appearance with an early version of Junior's Eyes. War Pigs was done as a soundcheck and evidence points to the fact it was filmed also. We know the program has survive over the years. Manly because it was used on a 2003 BBC documentary on the band. But the entire audio portion is easy to find, check youtube.
UPDATE: I do know of 4 people who DO have this in full. As it was secretly copied from the BBC vaults. 3 of these (I'd bet a dime on) have made copies for close friends!!!! Not saying they have though!!!

Organized by Boomtown Rats singer Bob Geldof 'Live Aid' is perhaps this biggest charity event of all time. Set up to raise money for the starving of Africa. July 13 1985 consisted of two concerts. Taking place in London and Philadelphia. MTV US broadcast begins with Children Of The Grave already in progress. Then shows the complete Ironman & Paranoid. While Japan TV shows the complete COTH but misses out the Ironman. When the show was released on DVD they included the Chevy intro and Paranoid.

Part of Rob's and Oz's Sabbath show was filmed along with Oz's solo set. There's the complete Paranoid, Fragments of: I Don't Wanna Change The World, Bark At The Moon, Mama I'm Coming Home. From his solo set & the song Black Sabbath with Sabbath. Who knows how much of this is in a vault somewhere. Also there is different back stage interviews with Iommi - Halford - Butler - Appice - Osbourne - Ward.
1992 MTV Europe Headbangers Ball showed a different alt angle pro-shot of the song Black Sabbath with Ozzy at Costa Mesa. It was part of some news footage.

music fans. There is an 1992 E! interview with Ozzy. E! unedited footage of Sabbath at the Rock Walk of Fame. Which interviews Sabbath & Halford. Lita Ford talks about her working with Oz. There is one thing that really makes this worth getting. A making of segment on the movie 'Trick Or Treat'. Until it was released on this DVD they were selling VHS copies of it on ebay for $$$$$$. A VHS copy of it ended up auctioning for almost 200$ on ebay. It was one of those promotional VHS they play in the video stores. There is also some pictures of Oz & Sabbath that pop on screen which I never seen before.

The documentary features new and candid interviews with all four of Sabbath's original members vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bass player Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward. To me the best part of this release is getting to see Iommi play Planet Caravan on the acoustic guitar. They really give this song some much needed attention. Its great to see Iommi at home playing the main riffs from the album. Geezer also plays some riffs on bass at his home. This starts with Paranoid live at the Caljam in great quality. It goes on to include footage from the Paris 70 concert and German TVs Beat Club. They also show parts of the Never Say Die dvd. The persons closes to Sabbath that are interviewed is former manager Jim Simpson & Studio worker Thom Allen. He plays isolated parts of the songs as well as some of the demos. (Demos can be heard on the deluxe editions on 2009) Then he pulls out the orginal 4 track master studio tapes with his hand writing on the front. Also Henry Rollings gives some good fan perspective on the album. Stories include Iommi and his finger accident, name change of War Pigs, how Ironman, Paranoid, Faires Wear Boots came to be. Joe Smith from Warner Bros Records comes in to talk about the record company decision on various things about the album.
